In a deal announced on June 21st, rapper Lil Wayne has plead guilty to a drug charge in Arizona, which may help him avoid jail time. The deal was made via video from New York where Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, is serving a year for gun possession.
The charge stems from a bust on his tour bus back in January 2008, where ecstasy was allegedly found in his backpack. Lil Wayne could face three years in prison for drug possession, but the plea deal could have him serve 36 months of probation instead.
The plea deal currently is only a recommendation, and will be confirmed at a later date when Lil Wayne goes in front of the judge.

An arrest warrant was issued against Lindsey Lohan May 20th, and her probation was revoked, when she failed to appear at a hearing in a Los Angeles court.
Judge Marsha Revel ruled there was “probable cause to believe (Lohan) is in violation of probation” from a drunk driving conviction back in 2007.
Lohan’s Attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said that Lohan had lost her passport and was unable to fly back to the United States for the hearing. Lohan is currently in France to promote her newest movie that features her in the role of Linda Lovelace, a porn star from the 1970s.
Holley also stated that a temporary passport has been issued to Lohan, and could appear in court as early as Friday.

Keifer Sutherland Arrested for Assault
Keifer Sutherland, star of The Lost Boys and Flatliners, has turned himself in yesterday to police in the Soho district of Manhattan over charges of assault against fashion designerJack McCollough.
It has been reported since Monday by several news outlets that Sutherland headbutted McCollough at an after party following a costume gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Sutherland is currently serving a five year probation for a 2007 drunk driving charge. If found guilty on assault charges, the consequences could be legally grave, as the probation requires Sutherland to “obey all laws”.
Neither the Manhattan District Attorney’s office or Sutherland’s representative have made a statement regarding the charges at this time. It is unclear whether Sutherland has sought criminal defense representation yet.
