When Michael Jackson died on June 25th in California, Dr. Conrad Murray was by his side.
Today, Dr. Murray’s office in Houston TX was searched by Los Angeles Police detectives and federal Drug Enforcement Agency agents using a search warrant.
Ed Chernoff, a lawyer in Houston hired by Murray shortly after Michael Jackson’s death stated that “the search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents, they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter.” He also added that the detectives “left with a forensic image of a business computer hard drive and 21 documents” when they concluded their search in the early afternoon.
No notice has been given as of this writing as to what those documents were.

A John Waters Christmas
A federal lawsuit for copyright infringement has been issued against director and all-around awesome individual John Waters for the publication of the song “Santa Claus is a Black Man” on Waters’ CD A John Waters Christmas from 2004.
The plaintiff, Theodore Vann, claims he owns the song and that Waters had no right to release it on the CD. Vann goes on to say in his suit that he specifically denied Waters the rights to use the song because he is “odd and a fetishist”.

Michael Jackson Settles Lawsuit
London’s Royal Courts of Justice has said that a lawsuit filed by Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa against Michael Jackson has been settled out of court.
The lawsuit claimed that Jackson had abandoned a business deal with 33-year old Sheikh Abdulla that would have included a new album and an autobiography. Sheikh Abdulla had paid the $2.2 million in legal fees for Jackson’s 2005 child molestation trial, let Jackson move into one of his palaces in Bahrain after the acquittal, and had given Jackson a $7 million advancement on the planned record and book.
Jackson’s lawyers argue that the money given was to him as a gift, and that he was not bound by any contract.
The terms of this amicably settled dispute will remain undisclosed, with a representative for Sheikh Abdulla saying “the details of the settlement will remain confidential as this is part of the agreement.” The pair have wished each other well on their individual endeavors.

George Michael Arrest for Suspicion of Drug Possession
Over the weekend, a 45-year old man was arrested in a London public toilet on suspicion of drug possession after a tip-off from the bathroom attendant, and later released with a “caution” for possession of class A and class C drugs.
Although Michael was not named by police, other sources were later able to confirm his identity. Michael pleaded guilty last May for driving while unfit and was banned from driving for two years. In an interview last year, Michael proudly proclaimed “…and I can afford my marijuana so that’s not a problem.”

Kanye Arrives in Hawaii
After yesterday’s little scuffle at LAX, Kanye West is out on bail and at his final destination Hawaii.
West noted on his blog “We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!”
That’s some good wording right there.
