As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family. We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday, the family of Gabriela Cedillo, filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures for an injury that she sustained on the set during a stunt that went wrong.
The paper work filed by Cedillo’s attorney Todd A. Smith, a Chicago car accident lawyer with Power Rogers and Smith, described that the accident involved a broken towing cable snapping through the car Cedillo was driving and hitting her in the head. On Tuesday Smth said that Cedillo is “unable to speak and is paralyzed on her left side… It looks like she has vision loss in the left eye, which is sewn shut because there’s a paralysis associated with that and they don’t want her eye to dry out.”
Paramount, which did not directly respond to the lawsuit stated that their “thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with Gabriela, her family and loved ones. The production will continue to provide all the help we can to Gabriela and her family during this difficult time.”
Smith is seeking money in excess of $50,000 for Cedillo.

In a deal announced on June 21st, rapper Lil Wayne has plead guilty to a drug charge in Arizona, which may help him avoid jail time. The deal was made via video from New York where Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, is serving a year for gun possession.
The charge stems from a bust on his tour bus back in January 2008, where ecstasy was allegedly found in his backpack. Lil Wayne could face three years in prison for drug possession, but the plea deal could have him serve 36 months of probation instead.
The plea deal currently is only a recommendation, and will be confirmed at a later date when Lil Wayne goes in front of the judge.

The trustees for Dennis Hopper, who have control over his estate and property, are currently trying to reach an amicable agreement with Hopper’s wife Victoria Hopper and the division their property.
Back in March 2010, Dennis Hopper filed an amendment to his estate plan that would cut Victoria’s share from 40% to 25%. This amendment may not be valid, however, because the couple were pending divorce, which would severely limit Hopper’s ability to change his estate plan under California law.
Victoria contends that she is entitled to at least 25% of the estate.
This is a good example of why you should always have your estate planning, including wills and trusts, up to date and following the laws of your state.

An arrest warrant was issued against Lindsey Lohan May 20th, and her probation was revoked, when she failed to appear at a hearing in a Los Angeles court.
Judge Marsha Revel ruled there was “probable cause to believe (Lohan) is in violation of probation” from a drunk driving conviction back in 2007.
Lohan’s Attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said that Lohan had lost her passport and was unable to fly back to the United States for the hearing. Lohan is currently in France to promote her newest movie that features her in the role of Linda Lovelace, a porn star from the 1970s.
Holley also stated that a temporary passport has been issued to Lohan, and could appear in court as early as Friday.
