Girls Gone Wild Mastermind Files Counterclaim Against Wynn Casino’s Lawsuit
Last month, casino tycoon Steve Wynn and Wynn Casino sued the mastermind behind the Girls Gone Wild series Joe Francis, who they claim has not paid back a $2 million dollar marker that was fronted to Francis back in February 2007. At the time the lawsuit was filed, Francis’ spokesperson noted that as far as Francis is concerned, all his balances with resort hotel had been paid off.
However, Francis has now filed a counterclaim against Wynn Casino. In the counterclaim, Frances alleges that Wynn Casino lures in whales (high rollers who gamble huge amounts of money) with “alcohol, prostitutes and illegal drugs.” Francis went on to claim that the casino’s VIP host Larry Altschul made promises to him to keep him gambling at the Wynn. In his final attack, Francis says that the Wynn Casino uses phony markers and forges gamblers signatures to take money away from them and turn a “high rollers’ win to a loss.”
The Wynn Casino has fired back saying “The claims made in the counter suit by Joe Francis are not only false but scurrilous beyond imagination” and “we will pursue Mr. Francis for damages resulting from those incredibly damaging and libelous statements.”
Who do you think will win? Either way, I’m sure there are some Las Vegas attorneys who are going to be very happy when all is said and done. Place your bets!
